We at Amped IGO would like to thank all of our readers for its first months of support and welcome you to our very first Game of the Year Awards. During these awards we will be looking back on the cream of the crop that made 2005 such a great year for gaming. We saw the release of some really strong titles as early as January, a few remakes of old favorites, and towards the tail end of the year, the launch of the very first next generation console. If this wasn't an eventful year, then we don't know what is.

This year, we are honoring the best games in the various existing genres, the most notable games on any particular platform, and of course, the best game to grace any platform this year.
